Fudge Extra Credit Project

Directions:

1. Find a recipe for fudge and make it
2. Draw a cartoon of yourself making it that illustrates the chemical principles involved
3. Hand in a small piece of fudge, the recipe, and your cartoon.

Guidelines:

• The fudge making must be done by you (i.e. not mom, grandma, or the bakery)
• The recipe must involve heating sugar and water to a specific temperature (i.e. you may not use the recipe on the condensed milk can)
• You can work in pairs or triplets if you wish
• Your cartoon must
  • clearly illustrate at least three chemical principles having to do with solutions
  • use color
  • have at least three panels
  • show the steps involved in making fudge
• This project is worth a lab grade which will be based on the yumminess (smoothness and non-runniness) of your fudge and the quality of your cartoon
